Camping

The 3rd Ottawa truly holds to the promise of adventure in the Scouts Canada movement.  Our Scout Troop camps 5 or more times a year, Cubs 3-4, and even our Beavers get into the act with one or two camps annually.  Our group has modern camping gear from Eureka tents and Coleman cooking equipment to new large pots for our “boil in a bag” winter camp cooking system.  All your youth have to bring is a sleeping bag, pillow, clothing and a sense of adventure, and we’re ready to go.

Campsites: These are the sites in and around Ottawa that the 3rd Ottawa, and the Heritage Area we are a part of, use regularly for campsites.  Most have a Google Map and a website link, and many have GPS coordinates as well.

Camp Gear: Our tried and significantly field tested packing lists for your youth to bring to a winter, fall or spring camp.  When we recommend no cotton at winter camps, you should pay particular attention.

For 2022, we have added some back country adventure gear kits for our Scout and Venturer sections, which include MSR Gear Whisperlite stoves and alpine pot sets, Big Agnes Copper Spur ultralight tents, and Platypus Gravityworks water filtration systems.

The 3rd Ottawa proudly owns Eureka El Capitan tents.
