Welcome to the 2014-2015 Scouting season – Our Beaver and Cub sections are quite full, and as such we cannot accept any new members in those sections. There are other neighbouring Groups that are accepting new members – you can use this easy online form to find them.

For the Scouts and Venturers, we simply need an updated form and a cheque for $200 made out toScouts Canada – 3rd Ottawa Group.  Thank you and we look forward to another great year in Scouting!

We are also looking for new leaders in our Beaver Colony, so parents and adult volunteers, if you are interested in becoming a leader in the Scouting movement, send our Registrar an email at registrar@thirdottawa.com.

calendarOur first meetings for September are as follows - Beavers and Scouts, Sept.15.  Cubs Sept. 17.  Venturers Sept. 18.  For details on the programs in your section, click on that section (for instance, if you are the parent of a Beaver Scout, click on “Beavers” in the main menu bar above.)

thanks_button Say “Thank You” to a deserving volunteer leader in Scouting. It’s easy - just click here and fill out the short form, and your leader will receive your message, and accumulate commendations toward an Outstanding Service Award. The answers to the three questions after the name of the leader you are thanking are:  Council: Voyageur, Area: Heritage, Group: 3rd Ottawa.

About the 3rd Ottawa: The 3rd Ottawa Group is the oldest continually operating Scouts Canada group in the Ottawa area.  We are located in the Westboro area of Ottawa, at Westminster Presbyterian Church.  We are a very active group in the community and within Scouts Canada with Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and often Venturer sections.  Information for each section is available on this site, as well as resources concerning camps, uniforms, badges, fees, tax exemptions, and more.

Wordpress menu exampleOur WordPress site enables all of our leaders and group committee volunteers to edit, add and maintain our website easily and quickly.  The menu system is organized by Section (Beavers, Cubs, etc.) as well as our powerful Resources menu, which includes links to Uniform orientation, Campsites, Leader info (which everyone is welcome to read) and Links to businesses in Ottawa we use. Every level of the menu is clickable and contains information, so if you see it highlight, you can click on it to see info. Older web browsers may see different colours in the menu.  We recommend Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
