Welcome to the 2014-2015 Scouting season – Our Beaver and Cub sections are full, and as such we cannot accept any new members in those sections. There are other neighbouring Groups that are accepting new members – you can use this easy online form to find them. Our friends at the 72nd Ottawa are looking for new Beavers! Their site is http://www.72ndottawascouting.ca
For the Scouts and Venturers, we simply need an updated form and a cheque for $200 made out to “Scouts Canada – 3rd Ottawa Group“. Thank you and we look forward to another great year in Scouting!
Say “Thank You” to a deserving volunteer leader in Scouting. It’s easy - just click here and fill out the short form, and your leader will receive your message, and accumulate commendations toward an Outstanding Service Award. The answers to the three questions after the name of the leader you are thanking are: Council: Voyageur, Area: Heritage, Group: 3rd Ottawa.
About the 3rd Ottawa: The 3rd Ottawa Group is the oldest continually operating Scouts Canada group in the Ottawa area. We are located in the Westboro area of Ottawa, at Westminster Presbyterian Church. We are a very active group in the community and within Scouts Canada with Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and often Venturer sections. Information for each section is available on this site, as well as resources concerning camps, uniforms, badges, fees, tax exemptions, and more.
Our WordPress site enables all of our leaders and group committee volunteers to edit, add and maintain our website easily and quickly. The menu system is organized by Section (Beavers, Cubs, etc.) as well as our powerful Resources menu, which includes links to Uniform orientation, Campsites, Leader info (which everyone is welcome to read) and Links to businesses in Ottawa we use. Every level of the menu is clickable and contains information, so if you see it highlight, you can click on it to see info. Older web browsers may see different colours in the menu. We recommend Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. We do not test this site with Internet Explorer – if you are experiencing issues with IE, we recommend updating that browser or choosing Chrome.
