This is an alphabetical list of camps frequented by the 3rd Ottawa. Most are within 90 minutes of Ottawa and all have been used extensively by our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers.  These camping locations provide the adventure and fun the youth are looking for, as well as all the natural wonders Ontario and Western Quebec have to offer.

 Awacamenj Mino This camp is run by Scouting Quebec and is just 45 minutes North of Ottawa. It is a beautiful camp with cabins and tenting sites. The name is an algonquin indian name that means "better than the best". Bon Echo Provincial A gorgeous provincial park featuring lakes and the stunning Mazinaw Rock.  Fitzroy Provincial  A large, beautiful provincial park on the Ottawa river covered in white pine, 200-year old burl Oak, and trails through shale terraces with a nice waterfall to play around (and in). Several large group sites are perfect for the Scouting movement.  A nice beach is available for swim time as well. Foley Mountain Operated by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, Foley Mountain is just outside the town of Westport and offers great hikes, base and top of trail camps, and nice views. Gracefield The Gracefield Camp and Conference Centre is run by the Presbyterian Church of Canada, and is located outside Gracefield, QC.  This is a beautiful site with cabins, plentiful tenting, a cool fort in the forest, and great swimming and boating facilities. Impeeza Operated by Scouts de l'Outaouais, this camp is just a bit further past the entrance to Lac Philippe, at the North end of the Gatineau Park.  It has sanitary facilities, some cabins, and large camping areas. Lac Philippe Inside the Gatineau Park, the group campsites are actually located closer to Taylor Lake just after the main gate (the booth where a gate rises to let you in) to the park. With two beaches and a system of caves along with enormous hiking potential, this is a popular spot for the 3rd Ottawa. Opemikon Scouts Canada owned camp at Christie Lake near Perth.  For over 100 years this has been the primary Scouts Canada camp in our region.  Cabins, tents, lots of hiking and adventure potential, this is a great camp. Ottawa Municipal While close to the Queensway, the Ottawa Municipal campground has many powered campsites, washroom facilities, a group camping area in the trees, and is connected by pathways to the NCC Capital bikeway. Our Scouts have used the site as a stopover on their bike camping trips. Otter Lake Another Scouts Canada owned camp on Hughes Lake (yes, the name is confusing - it is near the town of Otter Lake, but the camp is actually on Hughes Lake). It is located about 45 minutes North of Shawville, QC. A smaller camp, but a favourite with the Cubs due to great games of manhunt.  White Pine A private camp on Wright Lake with a history connected to Scouting. Located at the end of Fauquier Road, the camp was once owned by an RCAF Air Commodore of the same name.
