In July 2011 Our troop paid a visit to a scout troop from Endingen Germany.  It was an amazing experience for all involved. You can find the story on our Blog.

Like most Scout outings, our trip involved alot of travel, in this case by plane, bus, train and car…and of course since Scouter Mike was there….with a few hikes thrown in!  The scout troop we visited was based in Endingen Germany, in the shadow of the Kaiserstuhl, an extinct volcano.

We spent a few days camping in yurts on the flank of the Kaiserstuhl amidst the vinyards.

During the trip we also made visits to Freiburg, the Black Forest, and the reconstructed castle of Haut Koningsburg, as well as Europa Park, home to Europe’s tallest roller coaster!

We renewed alot of friendships, and made alot of new friends during the trip, so the farewell barbecue was definitely a bittersweet event.

We received a "piece 'o yurt" as a parting gift
