The
3rd Ottawa Cub Pack is a member of the Heritage Region, Voyageur
Council of Scouts
Canada.
The leaders for the 3rd Ottawa Cubs for 2007-2008 are (more contacts
soon):
Uniform: All of the cubs should obtain a shirt and sash
from the Scouts Canada store on Baseline avenue. A necker and
woggle (the little item that holds the kerchief together) will
be provided by the pack. It is a very good idea to own a copy
of the Cub Handbook, which comes with a poster for keeping track
of badge progress. The Scouts Canada store is located at:
1345 Baseline Road
Ottawa, Ontario K2C 0A7

Where do all the badges go?? You can check our uniform
orientation page for an image that should help you.
Please bring your cub to the meeting in comfortable clothes
and gym shoes.
Conduct: Expected behavior and rules will be discussed
with all cubs at the first meeting. Although our main goal is
to have fun, cubs that continue disruptive behavior or are disrespectful
to other cubs or their leaders will be given a 'time out' period.
If the behavior continues, despite warnings and 'time out' periods,
the parents will be contacted to come and pick up their child.
This is necessary to ensure that ALL cubs have a safe and happy
time during the meetings and outings.
Dues: Each cub is required to bring dues of $1.00 at the beginning
of each meeting which will be collected by their sixer. The sixer
is the cub head of their group (or "six").
Badges: Badges can be earned after your cub is invested.
These can be a source of pride and personal accomplishment for
your cub. Some badges will be done as a group but most are done
on the cub's own time. Have a look through your cub book and
see what badges your cub may be interested in. Some badges,
such as the collector, reader, artist or team player badges
are a little easier to get and may be good ones to start with
for younger cubs. Cubs who wish to be tested for a badge must
inform their leader at the beginning of the meeting so that
time can be put aside for this during the meeting. Badges will
be given out at the closing ceremony of the meeting in front
of the other members of the pack (and parents if they want to
watch the closing ceremony).
Camps: Hopefully 3 camps will be offered this year: one
in the fall, winter and spring. We will provide you with the
dates of these camps, as the time gets closer.
Outings: We will try to arrange several special community
outings or special events during the year. Please remember that
we will need parent volunteers to drive and chaperone during
these events. Allergy Alert: We have one child with a severe
nut allergy and one with a kiwi allergy. All snacks
and food brought to cub events need to be absolutely nut
and kiwi free. Please ensure that if your child consumes
one of these foods prior to a meeting that he washes his hands
and face thoroughly

Phillipe in Gatineau Park.
